Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Counselor to join our team. As an After-School Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students during after-school hours. You will be responsible for implementing structured activities, providing academic support, and fostering positive social interactions among students. Responsibilities:

1. Supervise students during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

2. Plan and facilitate structured activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects.

3. Provide academic support to students, assisting them with homework and reinforcing concepts learned in school.

4. Foster positive relationships among students by promoting teamwork, conflict resolution, and respect for others.

5. Maintain a clean and organized environment in all activity areas, including classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.

6. Enforce program rules and policies consistently, addressing any disciplinary issues with fairness and professionalism.

7. Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement enrichment programs and special events.

8. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.

9. Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating integrity, empathy, and enthusiasm for learning.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreational setting strongly preferred.

3. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

4. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

5. Ability to maintain a positive and supportive attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

6. Basic knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.

7. First aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.

8. Must pass a level II background check and meet compliance requirements.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.64 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
