Job Title EHS Technician Responsible for performing technical duties related to continuously improving EHS performance, proactively minimizing or eliminating EHS impacts, and assuring compliance with all EHS regulations. Support the implementation and evaluation of programs designed to minimize risks to employees and the environment. Support and maintain procedures and policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System. • Follow established procedures to determine if all EHS issues have been assessed and impacts minimized. • Assist with completion of all applicable environmental reporting for submittal by the EHS Manager with appropriate agencies; may coordinate inspections with a regulatory external and internal agency. • Carry out technical duties to ensure proper waste disposal of all facility waste streams. • Participate in plant inspections of fire and safety equipment, machinery, and facilities. • Help to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations. • Able to handle and operate devices, equipment, materials or machinery used in handling, monitoring or performance of EHS programs; may require ability to calibrate or maintain equipment to standards. • Able to monitor, track, log and/or maintain physical records of EHS procedures and programs. • Able to follow prescribed safety procedures, and comply with local, state and federal laws and regulations regulating environmental health and safety. • Support and conduct EHS training to educate employees about EHS policies, laws, and company best practices. • Perform technical duties to support investigations of accidents and incidents to minimize recurrence. • May conduct noise monitoring surveys to determine hearing protection requirements and compliance with OSHA Hearing Conservation Program. • May conduct air quality tests for presence of harmful substances. • May conduct sampling (bulk samples, grab samples, wipe samples, etc.) to determine compliance and/or to determine possible environmental, health and safety impacts. • Conduct Respirator Fit Testing. • Conduct routine technical duties related to department and facility audits to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations. • Able to identify and report safety concerns to higher-level staff; evaluate safety factors and report to management. • Able to participate on Site First Aid and Emergency Response Teams. • Able to occasionally work non-routine hours such as for training on off-shifts. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support and help to implement new ideas. • Assist and/or perform in any and all areas as assigned. Job Requirements: Education: • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or in a related discipline and equivalent work experience. Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Understand all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, with demonstrated ability to read and interpret government regulations. • Perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing effective communication and high math skills. • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks. • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds. #LI-MR1 Target Hiring Range Annual Salary: USD 83,722.00 - USD 110,513.00 Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
