The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties is Hiring a Resident Assistant Near Wooster, OH

GROUP HOME RESIDENTIAL ASSISTANT

The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes Counties is searching for caring, dedicated individuals looking to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with mental illness in our communities in our supported Group Homes. Join our team and see the difference!

These are FULL TIME opportunities with a rotating weekend schedule! 2nd & 3rd shifts are currently available. We are also looking to cover a float position. On-the-job training is provided for working with individuals living with mental illnesses.

What this position does:l

  • Establishes a supportive relationship with each home resident.
  • Encourages a routine for personal care and cleaning of their living areas.
  • Assists with daily living skills such as: meal planning, shopping, food preparation, nutrition, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Encourages residents to care for themselves by prompting good habits regarding grooming, bathing, and personal hygiene.
  • Arranges social activities for the residents, both within and outside of the home and encourages involvement.
  • Monitors medication and symptoms of each resident and reports concerns to the Director of Residential Services or the resident’s social worker.

What this position does NOT do:

· There is NO LIFTING involved!

· There is NO DIRECT PERSONAL CARE such as bathing or grooming residents.
