Note: -
Client won't manufacture Molds. This role serves as a resource to their customers when they are designing Molds for product manufactured at clients facility. Customer facing and must have excellent communication skills.

Job Description: -

Coordinates activities to facilitate production or procurement of fixtures and tooling. Maintains existing tooling and coordinates repairs or modifications of existing tooling. Maintains tooling documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities: -

• Evaluates tooling orders.
• Examines blueprints to determine tool requirements and special materials or items to be ordered.
• Reviews requisitions for items to be purchased for tooling maintenance.
• Contacts vendors to obtain tooling quote.
• Contacts vendors to monitor tooling status and expedite order if necessary.
• Maintains records of tooling procurement, status and disposition information.
• Processes requests for tool repair.
• Dispositions tool repair in-house or to an outside vendor.
• Follows internal processes, guidelines, policies, and Quality System.
• Cooperates with other departments and personnel to meet customer requirements
• Assists all Departments with customer requests and needs in a timely fashion.
• Provides technical expertise on mold-making to customers and internal employees.
• Selects vendors and purchases tool and/or fixtures within procurement guidelines.
• Provides feedback on part design to support design for manufacturability with customers and internal employees.
• Determines required staffing levels. Interviews and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
• Conducts evaluations of employee’s performance and corrective action.
• Facilitates performance improvement through coaching and mentoring.
• Trains, coaches, and mentors lead operator staff.
• Interprets and enforces company policies and safety regulations.
• Promotes the quality system and follows quality system guidelines. Ensures staff is educated and understands quality system requirements.

Requirements: -

• Must have a B.A./B.S. in Plastics Technology or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Must have a minimum ten years’ experience in tool design or tool making.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must have good communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Must have the ability to organize and direct the activities of others.
• Must be able to manage time and projects.
• Must be self-directed.
• Must have intermediate supervisory skills and knowledge.
• Must be able to perform root cause analysis.
• Must have working knowledge of tooling design and tool making.
• Must have basic computer skills (3D CAD, MRPII, word processing, etc.) and be able to use portions that are applicable to job function.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
