D.M. Bowman, Inc. is Hiring a Driver Manager Near Williamsport, MD

We are looking for a Driver Manager to join our team! The Driver Manager would be responsible for safe on-time delivery while maximizing the productivity and profitability of the assigned fleet of trucks. This positions also would be responsible for helping to promote positive relationships with employees, advocating safety initiatives, and ensuring adherence to company policy and procedures. This position would report directly to the onsite Fleet Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist drivers with their work assignments, ensuring accurate communication flow within the system, and compliance within the Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Review and process paperwork received from drivers.
  • Assist with safety by coaching and mentoring driving employees on safety incidents and initiatives.
  • Promote retention of company drivers through open communication, positive relationships, accountability, and correct utilization of resources.
  • Compile reports regarding out-of-route mileage, revenue, freight movement, tractor and trailer preventative maintenance, and employee status reports.
  • Other operations, or managerial duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Required: A minimum of 1-2 years management experience

Required: High school diploma, 1-2 years experience in the transportation industry

Preferred: Experience using AS400

To excel in this role, one must have; effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to utilize computers, strong use of Microsoft Office Suites, ability to manage conflicts, strong planning skills, instills trust and a great team player mentality

*pay based on experience
