About North High Brewing :

North High Brewing serves craft beer made by the brewery that shares our name! We also serve a full menu of from scratch bites, cater private events and large parties, and host community events.

Our first restaurant located in Historic Dublin, opened in 2020, while our Uptown Westerville location opened in the Fall of 2023.

Job Summary : Kitchen Manager

Kitchen Manager

We are looking for a restaurant Kitchen Manager who will be the leader in the kitchen. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for supervising and leading the line cooks and prep cooks, ensuring consistency of recipes, food preparation and food presentation.

Kitchen managers are also responsible for following local, state and federal health codes and ensuring a safe, sanitary and positive work environment.

To be successful, candidates must be self motivated and highly organized, with strong leadership and communication skills.

We expect you to take ownership of the kitchen and take accountability for your team. As a company, we continuously coach our team members and help them strengthen their skills as operators and financial managers within the business.

Kitchen Operations

Order food from the purveyor according to par levels and needs.

  • Ensure proper stock of all food items and kitchen supplies.
  • Ensure all food is correctly stored, and properly labeled and organized.
  • Runs product mixes and maintains adequate stock.
  • Prep, prepare, cook and expedit food, including catered events.
  • Ensure all quality standards, rules, policies, and procedures are maintained by all kitchen employees.
  • Oversee and ensure all daily kitchen duties are completed.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times.
  • Run labor reports, and work to keep the labor percentage below the goal.
  • Ensure all safety, emergency, and sanitation policies are followed and violations are fixed immediately.
  • Receive, organize and properly store all truck deliveries while maintaining correct food hierarchy and FIFO.
  • Follow the 5 Ps - Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance and makes others do also.

Customer Satisfaction

Professionally handle employee and / or guest complaints / grievances according to correct procedures.

Team Management

Supervise all kitchen staff to ensure NHB standards are followed at all times.

  • Supervise kitchen prep for service and lead the team during service in a professional manner.
  • Create the schedule for kitchen employees.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to upholding professional standards in the work environment.
  • Leads by example and demonstrates professionalism with coworkers.
  • Wears proper uniform and maintains proper hygiene at all times, and ensures all staff follow policies as well.

Job Qualifications :

  • At least 8 years of culinary experience and prior management experience.
  • Level 2 / manager certification food safety certification.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
