Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and assisting patients in selecting the right eyewear to meet their needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you can make a positive impact on people's lives.
Duties:
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear that suits their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
- Take accurate measurements of patients' eyes and facial features to ensure proper fit of eyewear
- Adjust frames and lenses to ensure comfort and optimal vision for patients
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Process orders for eyewear, including verifying insurance coverage and handling medical billing
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including medical history and prescription information
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care services
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is preferred
- Strong knowledge of retail sales principles and techniques
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance verification
- Proficiency in retail math calculations
- Knowledge of medical records management and confidentiality protocols
- Understanding of basic physiology related to eye health
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in optometry
- Experience working in an optical laboratory is a plus
- Ability to accurately measure vital signs related to eye health (e.g., intraocular pressure)
- Excellent sales skills with the ability to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers
