We are looking to fill the position of Financial Controller.

Responsibilities as follows:

Summary

The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as an accountant in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, you will make it your mission to streamline our financial controls and reporting processes. You will need to support through financial-status reports to senior management the necessary steps to improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth. As a member of the senior management team, you will have primary day-to-day responsibility for managing all accounting, finance, risk management and treasury activities of the company.

Objectives of this Role

• Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
• Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
• Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action
• Help develop and support short and long-term operational strategies
• Participate in ERP integration and development team
• Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly consolidation reporting
• Work closely with external accountants

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Controller works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Controller oversees the accounting and finance department and is also responsible for maintaining the relationships with outside CPA and legal entities

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as contractual requirements
• Day-to-day management of all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, Collections, Purchasing, A/P and GL functions, including the development and implementation of accounting and administrative procedures
• Coordination of monthly closings
• Preparation of customer reports, as needed
• In conjunction with the Executive team, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a monthly, and annual basis
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Oversee Bank Account reconciliations
• Assess and approve shipments/orders for credit hold customers and if necessary, assist with collections/negotiations
• Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field. CPA preferred.
• 10 years proven accounting experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing company.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) a must
• Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
• ERP experience preferred
• Excellent Communication skills
• Hands-on and team player
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
