NFI Massachusetts, Inc., a non-profit human services organization, is currently seeking a full-time Wellness Coordinator for our Intensive Residential Treatment programs located in Westborough, MA.

This is a secure residential program for adolescents who have experienced trauma.

The program provides intensive therapeutic services to clients who are referred from the Department of Mental Health after inpatient hospitalization.

The wellness coordinator ensures that the program provides daily clinically appropriate social and recreational activities to support the preferences and well-being of every youth in the program and their participating family members.

Responsible for individual, small and large group activities, within and outside the program, the wellness coordinator understands the interests of each youth, and works with the clinical team to provide a safe and appropriate daily diet of fun, laughter, movement and relaxation.

The wellness coordinator leverages the skills of other staff to expand possibilities, and works with staff to integrate fun into routine activities of daily living.

Job Responsibilities :

• Works with youth and family to identify pro-social recreational, arts, sports, volunteer work and extra-curricular activities that can be maintained or started in the community.
• Ensures daily physical activity for each youth based on needs and preferences, and solicits support from other staff in meeting individual needs.
• Works with the transition specialist to ensure pro-social recreation and joyful activities are included in the discharge plan and when the youth is with their family in the community and at home.
• Incorporates each youth and family’s cultural background, language, faith traditions into program celebrations and events.
• Provides in community coaching for youth to practice skills in navigating recreational and extra-curricular resources.
• Transports youth as needed to activities and events.
• Hosts and supports events and co-facilitates fun groups for youth and families.

Job Requirements :

• Relevant bachelor’s degree and two years experience with client population.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentational communication skills.
• High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere.
• Must be fully vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated against COVID 19
• Evening and Weekend availability.

Salary : $45,000-$50,000 annually
