Pathways Behavioral Services is Hiring a Substance Use Counselor (EOP) Near Waterloo, IA

Full-time Substance Use Counselor: Working one evening per week is required.

Founded in 1967 to serve clients solely in Black Hawk County, Pathways has expanded in the years since to offer comprehensive substance use, mental health, and problem gambling treatment and prevention services to people in six northeast Iowa counties – Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Grundy, and Black Hawk. Our staff includes counselors, nurses, technicians, community educators, wellness coaches, receptionists, billers, BHIS workers, peer support specialists, care navigators, and more. Pathways is CARF-accredited and a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. Pathways’ skilled and dedicated staff work together to improve and enrich the lives of individuals and families in our communities. Pathways utilizes holistic approaches to prevention and treatment.

The ideal candidate will:

· Conduct comprehensive substance use evaluations, including ASAM criteria and treatment recommendations.

· Provide skilled substance use counseling, utilizing evidence-based practices.

· Facilitate substance use groups, including one evening group per week.

· Assess crisis situations and provide appropriate supports and referrals.

· Complete quality and timely documentation within an Electronic Health Record and statewide data reporting systems

· Engage in case management, including working with referral sources and other resources.

· Demonstrate professional qualities including time management, organization, and communication.

· Be IBC-certified (CADC, IADC) or work toward IBC certification (tCADC, CADC) within 6 months of hire.

BA required, MA preferred

CADC preferred (or required within one year)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $46,564.40 - $51,294.57 per year

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
