Responsibilities

Psychiatric Institute of Washington (PIW) is a 130-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Washington, DC near Tenley Town. We offer the most advanced behavioral health, diagnostic treatment services for adults, adolescents, and substance abuse population in both inpatient and outpatient programs. Basic Function

Quality Manager works to improve the quality of care that PIW delivers to patients by focusing on performance improvement, auditing, staff education, and patient outcomes.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities

  • Lead data collection and abstraction for HBIPS, IPFQR, MIPS, BTags and other measures.
  • Data aggregation, analysis and reporting of quality measures.
  • Monitor core performance measures and facilitate quality improvement processes.
  • Assist with identifying opportunities for improvement, determining solutions, writing a plan of correction and collaborating with a team to implement the plan.
  • Assist with monitoring and evaluating the results of improved systems/processes by developing tools, auditing charts, analyzing data and reporting results.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulations, accreditation standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with management to develop new processes that lead to improved care, develop or revise policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with high level patient complaints.
  • Assist in staff education of quality topics at new hire orientation and ongoing trainings.
  • Assist in preparation for regulatory and accreditation surveys and facilitation of onsite surveys.
  • Monitor quality of care to meet PIW objectives and accreditation standards as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Collect, organize, correct inpatient outcomes forms and submit to MHO.
  • Assist in preparing for the monthly Performance Improvement Committee and other performance improvement teams and take minutes of the meetings.
  • Organize and submit monthly/quarterly report, as directed.
  • Administrative support to Director, Quality Management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field required.
  • 5 years hospital and/or job-related experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills.
  • Most possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • When regulatory surveyors are onsite, must be available to work extended hours.
