Habitat for Humanity - Americorps is Hiring a Bookkeeper Near Washington, NJ

Bookkeeper
The Bookkeeper performs a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly bookkeeping duties, following all established procedures and controls of the affiliate. This is an hourly, part-time position estimated at approximately 20 hours/week. Responsibilities listed below:
Responsibilities:
Post cash receipt transactions (mortgage payments, donations, retail receipts) in QuickBooks.
Post vendor bills and preparing payments.
Record and post mortgage payments.
Process bi-weekly payroll and post transaction.
Calculate retail sales tax liability - make payments.
Reconcile bank accounts.
Assist in the preparation of monthly finance board reports.
Calculate and make payment for the quarterly tithe commitment.
Assist in the annual audit.
Assist the CFO as needed.
Work with departments and committees as appropriate in the development of annual operating budgets.
Perform other related duties as needed and as time allows for.
Attend or participate in training as needed or required.
Model the Affiliate mission.
Qualifications and Skills:
Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in finance or related areas.
Well versed in Microsoft Office applications with an additional emphasis in Excel.
QuickBooks or similar financial software experience.
Bookkeeping/accounting experience a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and adept at organizing and filing.
Solid interpersonal and written communication skills.
Maintain all information in a confidential and professional manner.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethics and integrity.
Must have commitment to the Habitat mission and uphold its values.
