Zenith Services is Hiring a Project Controls Specialist Near Washington, DC

Client in Washington, DC seeks a proficient Project Controls Specialist to join the prestigious intercity Fleet Program. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of this groundbreaking initiative, aiming to redefine U.S. intercity passenger rail travel through innovative rolling stock solutions. As part of the newly established Capital Delivery organization, this role will play a vital role in setting the standard for program management in major capital projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monthly analysis and reporting of cost performance, providing detailed insights to enhance project performance and forecasting, as well as supporting corporate reporting and grants management.
  • Coordinate "bottom-up" forecasts monthly and quarterly to evaluate performance against Total Life of Project Cost and Schedule, facilitating evaluation of new scope or potential changes.
  • Review and vet invoices with Cost Engineering Team and Program Managers for receipt into the Ariba-on-Demand system, aiding in the development and tracking of monthly accruals.
  • Contribute to the organizational development of the annual operating plan.

Deliverables:

  • Deliver programs and projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Present projects at Quality Gates and Portfolio Review sessions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on cost controls for large capital construction projects, programs, and/or portfolios.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in diplomatically collaborating across teams with varying objectives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data analysis, particularly in Excel and PowerBI.
  • One or more certifications/credentials such as PSP, CEP, EVP, or CCP (AACE).
  • Graduate Degree or background in the transportation industry.
