Director of Cost Accounting - Up to $160k bonus

A publicly traded firm is looking to hire a Director of Cost Accounting to support the entire function. ***2-3 days onsite and some occasional travel

Description:

• Play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Cost Accounting strategy
• Supervise and manage inventory valuation, standard costing processes, and other critical accounting judgments.
• Lead month-end close activities, including the preparation and review of complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial flux analysis, and internal control procedures.
• Partner with Supply Chain leaders to ensure financial accuracy by understanding supplier reconciliations, production schedules, contracts, inventory movements, and related matters.
• Enhance key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational performance reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal cost accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations within the responsible area
• Manage the preparation of deliverables and foster collaborative interactions with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Provide leadership and take responsibility for identifying and implementing process and systems improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting and/or Finance
• 10 years of cost accounting experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
