We are looking for Tool and Die Designers in Grand Rapids, MI!

Our company designs and manufactures progressive line and transfer dies, welding equipment and special machinery. Our core strengths are automotive instrument panels, seat frames, office furniture components and assemblies.

Description

As a Tool & Die Designer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities :

• Produce quality detailed drawings for build purposes.
• Create part prints for quote purposes.
• Create 3D CAD models for CAM operation die details.
• Update models as needed for engineering changes.
• Maintain documentation and archives as required.
• Provide CAD support to Die Makers as needed.
• Establish strip-layouts as needed.
• Download, log, and process incoming customer CAD data as necessary.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
• NX design software proficiency needed .
• Prior tool and die maker experience a huge benefit.

Requirements

Skills and attributes you will want to be successful in this role :

• Create 3d strip (process) layouts / die designs using NX design software .
• Create detailed drawings of CAD files for manufacture of dies and associated tooling.
• Maintain CAD design files.
• Progressive / Transfer die design experience within last 5 year strongly desired .
• Must have 5 years of progressive sheet metal stamping die design experience.
• Understand tooling and die related issues with ability to troubleshoot problems
• Must read, write and speak in English.
• Must have strong verbal communication skills, ability to interface effectively with engineering and management about all manufacturing duties, activities and production issues.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Must possess a technical and hands-on approach to solve issues.
• Unigraphics (NX) is our development platform.

Pay :

• $30.00 - $35.00
• Will pay more based on experience
