The Service Parts Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the parts department, including inventory control, purchasing, logistics, and distribution. This role ensures the availability of necessary vehicle parts and accessories required for service and repair activities, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock is available for service needs without overstocking. Implement inventory audits and adjust stock levels based on demand and forecasts.2. Purchasing and Supplier Relations: Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices and terms. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.3. Sales and Customer Service: Enhance parts department operations to improve customer service. Provide expert advice and solutions to customers regarding parts inquiries and purchases.4. Logistics and Distribution: Manage the logistics of part delivery and distribution to ensure efficient operations. Optimize the parts distribution to assemblers and external customers.5. Team Management: Lead, train, and develop the parts department staff to ensure a knowledgeable and effective team. Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.6. Financial Management: Monitor and manage the budget of the parts department, including parts purchasing, staffing, and other operational expenses.7. Reporting and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations. Prepare and analyze reports on parts department performance and strategic planning.Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor Degree preferred; certification in related field preferred.• Proven experience as a Parts Manager or similar role, preferably in the automotive or related industry.• Strong understanding of inventory and supply chain management.• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.• Proficient in using inventory management software and common data analysis tools.• Strong negotiation and communication skills.• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.• Proficiency in Excel required; experience in QuickBooks preferred.
