City of Virginia Beach is Hiring a Building Code Inspector, #41609 Near Virginia, VA
The City of Virginia Beach is recruiting for a Building Code Inspector to join the Permits & Inspections division of the Planning & Community Development Department.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Inspection of residential and commercial new building construction, including repairs, alterations, additions, and /or renovations in compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC), City of Virginia Beach Zoning Ordinance and Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations.
- Review of Building Plans and Physical Surveys for code compliance.
- Answer code questions for contractors, homeowners, and citizens by phone, email and/or in person.
- Investigate related complaints and prepare reports as needed.
- Enter inspection results on laptop computer through Accela automated permitting system, attend Court/meetings related to construction/permit matters, and issue summons.
