Summary
Assembles and tests products, such as electronic control modules, partially or completely, working at bench or on shop floor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following drawings, pictures, and Bill of Materials
- Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, solder, or other fasteners
- Operate solder or solder removal machines to assist in assembly operation
- Test completed electronic modules while utilizing digital multimeter, oscilloscopes and other basic electronic test and measurement equipment
- Maintain red line drawing markups of changes required during fabrication
- Communicate red line drawings to an engineer for revision prior to completion
- The ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Obey all federal, state, and local laws
- Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Relevant experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Computer Skills
Excel Spreadsheet software and ability to proficiently learn Dorsett Manufacturing software.
Initiative and Ingenuity
Requires the use of little judgement to follow instructions, using simple equipment in performing duties where the employee follows standard operating procedures to achieve results. The employee has a voice on continuous improvement, safety, quality and productivity used to achieve results.
Mental/Visual/Auditory Demand
Frequent mental and visual attention, where the flow of work is intermittent or the operation involves waiting for a machine or process to complete a cycle, with intermittent checking involved.
Responsibility for Equipment
The employee is required to operate equipment properly and to follow proper safety procedures for that equipment they use. The employee must be trained on the equipment prior to using the equipment for the first time. If equipment does not function properly, the employee is required to report the equipment to the production Supervisor, so the equipment is removed from service for repair.
