Purpose of Position

The Development Manager's primary responsibility is to effectively plan and execute Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition’s (IRCHSC) special fundraising events, in addition to supporting the Director of Fund Development with growing philanthropic efforts. This role is also responsible for supporting marketing and external engagements across all departments.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Responsible for coordinating and executing IRC Healthy Start special fundraising events and committees.
• Execute Dancing with Vero’s Stars planning with the assistance of the DWVS event contractor under the direction of the Director of Fund Development.
• Assist with prospect research, donor cultivation, and stewardship to continue to strengthen the organization’s culture of philanthropy.
• Oversee digital and print marketing efforts such as curation of collateral, social media, newsletters, and annual reports, in collaboration with Community Liaison.
• Assist Community Liaison with community outreach events, when appropriate.
• Help to maintain and communicate unified external messaging across IRCHS departments.
• Assist in managing donor software to create event campaigns and acknowledgment of incoming gifts.
• Assist with external programmatic events, trainings, and other engagements.
• Maintains consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures.
• Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public and internal staff within 24-48 hours from time of contact via email or phone.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications, Training and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills.
• Be detailed oriented and organize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Understand and communicate IRC Healthy Start Coalition Structure and system of care.
• Knowledge in Maternal and Child Health.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and sit for hours at a time. Some bending and stooping is required.
• Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to typing.
• Be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
