JOB SUMMARY:

The Homeless Children’s Foundation of Indian River County identifies homeless children throughout the county and coordinates and funds enrichment programs for them. This position will oversee the cases of Early Childhood Education students (ages 0-5 years old). The Case Manager position is full-time (35-40 hours/week).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Develop individualized program plans for homeless children
• Identify benefits, programs, or resources that may be available to the client though the Foundation and assist with registration
• Meet with clients 1-4 times per month to evaluate needs and assist parents in developing and meeting goals
• Provide necessary referrals for services, including food banks, mental health counseling, and housing assistance
• Advocate on the client’s behalf when necessary
• Maintain data collection and case records
• Ensure that clients adhere to the program requirements
• Meet with community providers and partners
• Other relevant tasks, as instructed by Executive Director

NECESSARY SKILLS:

• Experience providing case management services
• Passionate about early childhood education and programming
• Understand the challenges facing homeless populations
• Consistently maintain required case records
• Ability to develop and maintain appropriate boundaries
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to needs of clients in crisis
• Must demonstrate responsiveness to cultural differences and a commitment to the value of cultural competency
• Reliable, honest, and able to work independently
• Team player
• Proficient computer skills
• Must have a vehicle to complete home visits

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in social work, family and child sciences, psychology, or related social service field (required)
• Master's Degree in social work or counseling (preferred)

Interviews for this position will begin in mid to late June and continue until position is filled.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 - $20.50 per hour
