UINTAH ENGINEERING & LAND SURVEYING is looking for a Payroll Coordinator in Vernal, Utah

STARTING WAGE IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Uintah Engineering & Land Surveying (UELS) is a major provider of land surveying, drafting and civil engineering services mainly for the Oil & Gas industries. UELS specializes in the layout and design of well-locations, roads, pipelines, evaporation ponds, compressor sites and all related facilities. UELS prepares field maps, documents used in the APD, access permits, stream crossing applications, floodplain studies, structural designs, and design plans and specifications.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Facilitates accounting for retirement & Employee/Employer HSA contributions.
  • Ensures appropriate accounting for PTO, overtime and other payroll related items.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.
  • Confidentiality: Must demonstrate and adhere to a strong personal code of ethics. Required to follow internal control procedures to safeguard business assets and maintain confidentiality with all business and employee information.

Education, Skills, & Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma / GED plus 2 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Keyboarding, basic computer and office equipment.

Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills (courtesy, discretion & sound judgment); good planning & organizational skills; proactive, positive and professional approach and attitude with the ability to be adaptable and flexible; work effectively as a team contributor on assignments; detail-oriented, efficient data entry.

Working Conditions: The incumbent of this position performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Must be able to work at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Preference given to candidates with:

-Multi-state payroll experience

-Payroll certification from an accredited educational entity
