Position Description: As a Claims Associate at Ajax Paving, your primary focus will be on managing and supporting our
company’s claims process. You’ll work closely with our Safety Director to ensure efficient handling
of claims related to our road construction and trucking projects. Below are the specific
responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
1. Claims Processing:
o Assist in processing and documenting claims related to Ajax Paving’s operations.
o Collaborate with Ajax managers & supervisors to gather necessary information and documentation.
o Maintain accurate records of claims, including correspondence, reports, and updates internal and
with our insurance partners.
o Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims.
2. Communication and Coordination:
o Communicate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, site supervisors, and legal
teams.
o Coordinate with external parties such as insurance providers, contractors, and regulatory
agencies.
o Handle inquiries related to claims status and provide updates as needed.
3. Data Management:
o Input claims data and updates into systems accurately.
o Generate reports and summaries for management review.
o Organize and maintain electronic and physical claim files.
o Accurately preparing and transmitting all first reports of injury and for all lines of business.
4. Administrative Support:
o Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, organizing documents, and various projects
and inquiries.
o Fielding incoming calls and send out appropriate claim forms.
o Responding to internal and external inquiries regarding claim status.
o Requesting claim and other payments to be issued by Ajax.
o Support the claims team during audits and investigations.
o Maintain various department manuals and documents.
5. Coaching and Feedback
o Review in vehicle camera footage to develop and administer internal coaching
o Administer internal driver scorecard program
Position Requirements: Qualifications:
1. Education:
Minimum of a 2-year associates degree. Paralegal certificate or relevant prior claims experience is a plus.
2. Skills:
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Self-motivated with a high work ethic
o Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
3. Experience:
o Prior experience in claims processing is a must.
o Familiarity with insurance terminology and claims procedures
