Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Use online insurance portals for claims follow up
· Contact insurance companies for claims status
· Review denied EOBs daily to determine reason for non payment for Commercial/Tricare/Medicaid payers.
· Work insurance follow up Queue Daily
· Submit corrected Claims/Appeals as needed
· Document account activity with appropriate follow-up date and reimbursement/correction information
·File/Mail secondary claims as needed
·Establishes effective communication between coders and providers to address any coding issues.
Assist with Insurance Payment Posting
Qualifications:
· High School diploma, Undergraduate Degree preferred.
· Strong knowledge of medical insurance and healthcare billing
· Ability to communicate effectively with insurance carriers, coworkers
· Experience with medical billing/coding preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel
· Possesses knowledge of ICD10, CPT-4, HCPCS, Modifiers
· Demonstrative extensive understanding of insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) required
· Possesses knowledge, skill and ability to operate a PC, applications/software, telephone, fax scanner and copier.
· Displays excellent oral and written communication skills; possesses excellent organizational and follow up skills; meets deadlines.
· Possesses and demonstrates professional telephone demeanor and appearance.
· Interacts successfully with all levels of staff and management; responds positively to direction and supervision.
· Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; can multi-task.
Displays the ability to keyboard 40 wpm; is proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook
