rVr is a craft oriented, Japanese Izakaya, utilizing the gifts of California’s small farmers. Opening soon in Venice, we are looking for upbeat engaged hosts interested in elevating guest experience. Responsibilities:

As a Host at rVr, you will be responsible for providing guests with a warm welcome and ensuring that they have an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. Your duties will include:

• Greeting guests as they arrive and seating them promptly and efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate waitlists and reservations, and communicating any wait times to guests.
• Engaging with guests and providing helpful information about the restaurant, the menu, and the neighborhood.
• Handling stressful interactions and situations, including managing guest complaints and resolving conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
• Maintaining a clean and organized host stand, including keeping menus and other materials up to date and organized.
• Collaborating with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Proactively addressing any potential issues or challenges before they become problems, and taking a proactive approach to improving the guest experience.
• Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times, and demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
• Providing training and guidance to new hosts as needed.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience as a Host in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests and make them feel welcome.
• Ability to handle stressful interactions and situations, and to resolve conflicts in a calm and professional manner.
• Proactive work ethic, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues before they become problems.
• Strong social skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and create a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
