The material handler will perform a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, data entry, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials. This role will receive materials and items and assign to location using our ERP system.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Familiarity with receiving practices and handling methods.
• Basic computer skills, such as accurate data entry is a must
• Forklift experience is a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
• Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
• Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
• Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to trucks, conveyors, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.
• Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to wheelbarrow, hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, and/or elevator.
• Accurately enters received materials into inventory tracking system, assigning locations, labeling materials, and moving material into that location.
• Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
• Stacks and assembles materials.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts.
• Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position regularly will require bending, lifting, pulling and pushing up to 75 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a warehouse/production environment; load machine noised from production machinery, and possible exposure to hot/cold temperatures depending on season. Some office work may be required.
