Director of Procurement (OPEX)

THE POSITION:
STACK is looking for a Director of Procurement who will report directly to the SVP of Sourcing & Supply Chain. This role will support multiple aspects of the supply chain, including (but not limited to), competitively bidding maintenance services for mechanical and electrical equipment, data center house services including janitorial, pest control and elevator maintenance. The ideal candidate will have tactical responsibility for the development and execution of RFI and RFP activities, purchase order management, budget analysis and cash flows tied to the operational expenses of the company. As an expert procurement leader, with a heightened focus on value creation and timely delivery, the role of the Procurement Director involves performing activities such as vendor negotiation, cost modeling, supply chain forecasting and competitive analysis. This cross-functional role requires strong communication and collaboration with company leadership, engineering, operations, finance, and other departments. Additionally, the ideal candidate for this role will be a leader and a great communicator that understands the detailed nuances of the data center, vendor topology in the market, buyer personas and MEP infrastructure.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Devise procurement strategies for North America; directing and driving all strategic and tactical procurement activities for operational maintenance of the data center
- Manage a team of direct reports and have responsibility for performance management and day-to-day coaching to ensure the success of the analysts, buyers, and broader Procurement team.
- Provide direction to accomplish strategic sourcing alternatives, vendor selection, price negotiation, KPI management, and supplier performance.
- Track labor trends and the impact on cost and resource availability.
- Become an expert on key vendor products and their associated maintenance services to ensure proper maintenance routines are followed
- Work closely with Operations leaders to provide best-value maintenance solutions for all data centers.
- Conduct cost modeling and bid levelling, and present recommendations to senior leaders.
- Manage complex POs from origination to completion
- Implement effective systems and processes to provide value throughout the Procurement, Finance and Operations departments
THE DETAILS:
- Location: Denver, CO in office 4 days per week
- Travel: 20-30%
- Compensation: $175,000 – $225,000 annual bonus
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must pass comprehensive background screening
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in procurement-related field
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Software background in large scale data management
