Job Description: Rotating every 3rd weekend may be required Job Description: The Pharmacy Information Technology (IT) Systems Coordinator (IP RPh) Clinical Informatics Specialist uses knowledge of information technology (IT) systems and the medication-use process to improve patient care through supporting technologies which lead to safer, more cost-effective medication use. The informatics pharmacist is responsible for providing professional consultative oversight to the maintenance upgrading, evaluation, and implementation of pharmacy computer software systems and pharmacy automation and maintaining his/her competency of systems. The IT pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Informatics Coordinator, pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as a resource for requests related to pharmacy system changes and additions. Qualifications: Current pharmacist license in good standing as issued by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. Two years of hospital pharmacy experience. within an integrated health system required. Must be physically on-site for staff training. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy practice, pharmacy automation, clinical information systems, and pharmacy computer systems. EHR System knowledge preferred (i.e. Epic, etc.) Automated Dispensing System knowledge preferred (i.e. Omnicell, Pyxis, etc.) Must exhibit excellent organizational, decision-making, time management, oral, and written communication skills.
