Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Informatics, this individual should perform regular analysis of department and user workflows, provide recommendations, utilize communication skills and Clinical experience to liaison between clinical staff/leadership and the information technology team. The individual will participate with system design life cycle decision making of eCHART and other clinical systems; assist in developing processes to meet documentation requirements for policies and procedures, as well as regulatory / state reporting metrics, and performs other duties as needed. Gather data and analyze information to improve knowledge and wisdom in patient safety, quality improvement, user efficiency and satisfaction. This individual should have excellent customer service skills along with highly effective written / verbal communication and interpersonal skills and exercise independent judgment to work with and mentor a variety of users.
This individual will utilize computer science, clinical (nursing) science, and information science to oversee clinical workflows, communicate with different operational levels, and provide clinical guidance in multiple specialty ambulatory practices. This individual will collaborate with the team for operational dress rehearsals, support clinical staff during new practice go-live and system upgrades, and provide ongoing assistance.
Provide ongoing support and clinical guidance in inpatient area on any campus and multiple Outpatient Physician Practice Offices. This individual will provide guidance and mentor others on work flows and informatics skills.
This individual will collaborate with the eChart Training team and operational Clinical Education department to develop ongoing educational needs in the forms of support, Online presentations, tip sheets, instructional videos, and monthly update newsletters.
This individual will promote the informatics specialty by maintaining a national certification (i.e. nursing informatics), maintaining membership in a national organization, participating in presentations to different operational staff members and leaders, representing the informatics team at various clinical committees, and participation at local and/or national conferences as applicable.
Days and hours worked may be variable.
Minimum Qualifications or Competencies: Basic competencies include, but are not limited to education, experience, or certification requirements.
Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following - Healthcare, IT, and/or Clinical Operations.
2. Master's Degree in Informatics

1. 7 years of Clinical experience
2. Three or more years of Clinical Informatics experience
3. Board Certification in Informatics
4. EPIC Certified in one clinical module AND Informatics module.
Preferred:
Proficient eChart EMR and understanding of information technology and database applications is necessary.
