Job Summary:
We are seeking a full time 9th-12th grade high school Guidance Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with excellent rapport-building skill with students., parents, community members and staff. The ideal candidate will provide support and guidance to students, focusing on their academic, emotional, and social well-being.
Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to:
· Academic counseling
· Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students
· College and career planning
· Educational planning
· Mental Health committee member
· Conduct mental health screeners
· Organize scholarships
· Organize Senior graduation
· Student scheduling
· Student advising
· Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs
· Offer academic advising to help students achieve their educational goals
· Utilize experience working with children to address unique challenges effectively
Requirements:
· Master’s degree in School Counseling (would consider a Bachelor’s degree candidate with the intent to earn Master’s degree)
· Certification in Guidance Counseling or relevant licensure
· Proven experience working with children in an educational setting
· Strong understanding of childhood development and behavior management techniques
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, families, and staff members
