Clinic Supervisor

Job Overview:

Valley Medical and Wellness is seeking a clinic supervisor to oversee clinic management for four locations specializing in Addiction and Pain medicine. Responsibilities include travelinh between metro locations on a daily rotation to oversight of the front office, clinical care, and aspects of supervising a medical practice. Will work in coordination with lab and centralized corporate office. Interacts with patients and providers to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care. Responsible for directing activities to provide optimum patient flow and minimize barriers in the provision of patient care using a systematic problem-solving approach.

Primary Responsibility:

  • Assure the vision, mission, and strategic goals of the organization are integrated into all clinical and is preserved in all patient, customer, and partner contacts.
  • Oversee or directly handle all staff hiring and disciplinary matters. A chief objective will be to create a workplace in which employees feel valued, challenged and supported.
  • Lead and supervise.
  • Act as a point of contact for escalated patients issues or complaints
  • Conduct regular meetings for staff and for individual departments to communicate new information, provide ongoing training and process improvement.
  • Monitor appointment schedules on a daily and weekly basis to ensure the clinic is scheduled to capacity for providers and support staff
  • Develops clinical skills/practice protocols and coordination of the onboarding and education of new hires.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor of clinic procedures.
  • Support operational reporting on daily, weekly, monthly basis
  • Collect and monitor performance indicator data to demonstrate quantifiable results as requested by the Clinic Manager.
  • Monitor various processes through reporting for cash box handling, Patient list auditing, expired supplement tax reporting, clinic cleaning, IT troubleshooting, printer and fax maintenance, clinic inventory
  • Partner with the Clinic Manager and key stakeholders to maintain quality control in the registration process and assure that intake practices remain current and meet all billing information requirements.
  • Responsible to implement and oversee special projects as assigned.
  • This position requires working on-site at four of our clinic locations: Burnsville, Minneapolis, Woodbury, and Rochester.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in health administration, or business administration with an emphasis in health care, and two or more years of administrative or management experience in a clinic setting.

Required Education, Experience and Credentials:

  • Associates degree
  • 1 year experience in managing people in a leadership role
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in clinical setting
  • Highly effective interpersonal, communication, assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lead and work in a multidisciplinary diverse team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Understanding of health care systems
  • Demonstrated people and business management acumen
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Additional Position Details: (hours, locations, commute)

  • Standard work hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 1 evening coverage in clinic weekly, and other hours as necessary to support and oversee business operations and initiatives.
  • Ability to work on a holiday as part of a rotation and float to other VMW locations as needed.
  • As needed, is on-call or accessible to other leadership and supervisors for event escalation of business decisions outside of the hours indicated above.
  • Work is rotating between clinics located in Burnsville, Plymouth, Minneapolis and Woodbury, MN locations.
