Catholic Charities - Diocese of Trenton is Hiring a Major Gifts Officer Near Trenton, NJ

JOB SUMMARY: The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of new and existing major donors including corporations and foundations. They will work with the Director of Development & Marketing to determine strategies and tactics for fundraising initiatives to secure both short and long-term success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work with the Director of Development & Marketing on fundraising strategies.
  • Design and implement short- and long-term engagement plans geared toward securing major gifts.
  • Develop and maintain a personal portfolio of 50 major donors and prospects with capacity to make gifts of $25,000 to achieve increased engagement and revenue.
  • Conduct donor and prospect research to identify opportunities.
  • Assist with grant research as needed.
  • Work in eTapestry to generate reports and queries.
  • Liaison to the County Board(s) to align with the mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to quickly change focus and direction to meet the demands of the job.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building.
  • Excellent technical skills, proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexible schedule as needed.
  • Travel within the four-county area as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of fundraising/development experience, preferably in non-profit.
  • Knowledge of current and evolving trends in philanthropy, major gifts, and solicitation.
  • Knowledge of donor databases preferred.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM

SALARY: $70,000-$75,000 Annually
