Job Classification: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Reporting Relationship: Vice President of Operations

Work Location: Hybrid/Remote Topeka, KS

Primary Accountabilities:

CBW Bank an innovative, dynamic company looking for an Accountant. This person will be responsible for reconciling daily bank activity, analyzing financial statements, preparing a variety of journal entries, assisting in monthly general ledger reconciliations, and ensuring invoicing of customers.

The Accountant will report to the Vice President of Operations.

Major Duties:

• Analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
• Preparation of a variety of journal entries
• Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations
• Reconcile daily wire, ach, and rtp transactions
• Ensure invoices are processed, reconciled, and billed accurately
• Prepare and deliver reports to bank management and board or directors regarding accounting activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required, previous banking experience preferred
• Experience in a variety of accounting related areas
• Solid understanding and strong working knowledge of banking regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
• Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
• Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks
• Time management skills
• Ability to work effectively and communicate with all levels of staff and management
• Understanding of the need to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Demonstrate good work habits, maintain a professional appearance and attitude and follow policies and procedures
• Must project a friendly, courteous, patient and professional image at all times, even under adverse conditions

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to read computer screens and email, mail and talk on the phone.
• Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
