Casual Opportunities have arisen in our homes based across Lancashire (Locations are : Thornton and Lytham St Annes)

Casual hours per week Holiday Pay and Additional Pay for Sleep in.

As a casual Residential Childcare worker (RCCW) you will be employed on an 'as and when' needed basis within a children's homes.

The role of an RCCW is wide reaching and covers many of the aspects of caring for children in a residential setting, a role specification is available as well as a job description for more details.

Every child desires someone who thinks the world of them and we are looking for professionals to join our extensive network of homes that can be this person.

The right candidate may not have experience of working in a children's home but should have some experience of working with children in a professional capacity.

This is why a leading induction and training program will be provided to successful candidates to support ongoing career development and support.

Meeting a child's social, emotional, intellectual, cultural and physical needs is a demanding yet highly rewarding role ensuring every child is given the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to build effective working relationships with young people, show good team work skills, communication skills and record keeping.

Whilst demanding the role is highly rewarding, a high level of patience and dedication to the needs of children that can be challenging is essential.

They will also need to be able to work with other agencies, such as Education, social workers, the Police, YOT workers, in promoting the needs of the young people.

RCCWs also need show the ability to work with other family members in supporting young people to rebuild relationships with family where supported by the care plan.

The hours of work will include weekend work, evening work, and on occasion an overnight sleep-in duty for which a sleep-in allowance and enhanced rates of pay will apply.

Although this post does not require you to have your own vehicle, it does require all applicants to have a full UK driving licence.

Transporting our young people to and from family contact as well as in emergency situations is an integral part of the role therefore the ability to drive our fleet vehicles is essential.
