Summary of Position:

The IT Manager is responsible for leading a team of IT technicians who are responsible for first, second and third level support of all standard hardware and software throughout the organization. This team provides effective diagnostic evaluation of end-user needs and in all cases uses good judgment and timeliness in responding to and resolving each issue to the customers’ satisfaction. This position entails the management of those individuals by providing clear vision and expectations, arranging schedules for coverage, budget planning, annual reviews including promotions and terminations, and participating in technical problem solving (at a high level).

This position will also participate in project tasks, will provide project support for engineering implementations and will work with the appropriate team for guidance and instruction.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of IT technicians who provide multi-level IT support throughout the organization.
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Create appropriate policies and lead the team to follow them.
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements to processes and procedures.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Participate in the budget management process for IT.
  • Participate in managing tickets in the ticketing systems.
  • Delegate tasks, tickets and responsibilities effectively, empowering team members to take ownership of their work and develop their skills.
  • Follow up with users to ensure issues have been resolved.
  • Write processes and training documentation.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules, work, and productivity of the team.
  • Manages their departments efficiently and in accordance with departmental goals.
  • In accordance with policy and with the support of the department head, makes hiring and selection decisions for staffing.
  • Provides performance feedback and completes evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Provide strong and visionary leadership to inspire and motivate team members towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior in all interactions and decision-making processes.
  • Encourage innovation and creativity, fostering an environment that embraces change and adapts to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Make informed and timely decisions, weighing various perspectives and considering the potential impact on the team and organization.
  • Evaluate and recognize the achievements of team members, celebrating successes and providing constructive feedback for improvement when necessary.
  • Commitment to ethical behavior and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • With the assistance of HR and the head of IT, handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Leadership skills with confidence to create policies and address process issues
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of current computing products, databases and remote control
  • Good understanding of Windows based computer systems, Apple mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues and manage hands-on technicians
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Proficient usage and management of basic Active Directory/Azure Directory Services

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of IT technicians who provide first, second and third level IT support throughout the organization

Education & Experience:

  • Proven experience in an IT management role
  • Technical certifications or computer-based bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in one or more of the IT functions

Travel Requirements:

  • Work is performed at a CIVI location M-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Friday.
  • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
  • Travel may be required to field office locations.

Base Pay Range: $154,300 - $162,500
