Position Summary

The DOT Compliance Coordinator must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven. This position ensures the company maintains compliant Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) records, and provides administrative support to maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Position Summary: The DOT Coordinator ensures the company maintains compliant Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) records, and provides administrative support to maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles
  • Review DOT programs, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness/compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain complete, accurate and compliant vehicle and covered staff DOT FMCSA files
  • Maintain files associated with roadside inspections and vehicle citations/warnings, investigation and corrective action, folder maintenance
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations regarding hours-of-service and vehicle maintenance as outlined by the FMCSA
  • Input fleet maintenance information and ensure accurate records for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections
  • Maintain effective communications with company field staff to make sure company vehicles are inspected and registered with state agencies as required
  • Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles using fleet management software
  • Assist with thoroughly investigating and documenting all accidents, DOT Incidents, roadsides, etc
  • Research, know and apply state, federal, industry specific and company compliance standards for DOT
  • Participate in the administration of disciplinary action for all DOT violations
  • Complete corrective action reports and ensure the corrective action is taken
  • Monthly review of CSA website
  • Conduct FMCSA Program reviews and provide the management with updates as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Health, Safety, and Environmental Department.
Requirements:
  • Required at least 3 years of experience in DOT FMCSA Compliance;
  • Required: Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities;
  • Able to use a personal computer with manual dexterity to operate a keyboard;
  • Meet requirements to have a valid driver’s license.


Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Relocation:

This position is not eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements:

This position does require local travel.

Work Schedule:

This position will work 8 hours, Monday-Friday in the Woodlands, TX location. This position is subject to overtime availability to meet deadlines.
