The Dementia Enrichment Center is dedicated to supporting individuals with dementia and their caregivers to achieve the highest possible levels of functioning and quality of life. With a commitment to ethical standards and evidence-based interventions, we foster independence, community, and engagement. We currently offer a stimulating day program for people with dementia, and education classes, support groups, and consultation for caregivers. We are intentional about our work and dedicated to creating an enriching, dignified experience.
On July 1, the Dementia Enrichment Center (based in Belton, TX) will open our first residential house! Located in West Temple, the Enrichment House will be home to THREE people with dementia who will benefit from supervision and assistance to help them be safe and successful. We do not provide nursing or medical care.
Role Description
We are currently hiring Care Specialists who will work at the Enrichment House. The Care Specialist actively provides support, assistance, and engagement to promote wellbeing, dignity, and engagement. They prepare and serve meals, keep the house clean and safe, do laundry, assist with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, toileting/incontinence care, eating, etc.) when needed, and encourage engagement, socialization, and independence. Care Specialists interact with residents throughout their shift, striving to identify and meet residents' cognitive, emotional, physical and social needs. Care Specialists are an important part of our work, and we value their contribution and input.
Please note: This is a non-medical position. The Care Specialist will not provide any medical care to residents, such as collecting vitals or lab samples, medication administration. We do not do charting, insurance billing, EMR, or other medical admin duties.
Available Shifts
Employees must be awake and alert throughout their shift.
