Job Duties for Care Staff:

1. Assisting Residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

- Helping residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

- Assisting with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair and vice versa.

- Providing assistance with eating and drinking, if necessary.

2. Medication Management:

- Administering medications according to prescribed schedules and protocols.

- Monitoring residents' medication intake and documenting any deviations or side effects.

- Refilling medication boxes and ensuring proper storage of medications.

3. Resident Monitoring and Reporting:

- Observing residents for any changes in behavior, health, or cognitive status.

- Reporting any concerns or incidents to supervisors or healthcare professionals promptly.

- Documenting observations, care provided, and any incidents in resident charts or electronic health records.

4. Providing Emotional Support and Social Engagement:

- Engaging residents in meaningful activities and social interactions to promote mental well-being.

- Offering companionship, empathy, and emotional support to residents.

- Encouraging participation in facility events, outings, and recreational activities.

5. Ensuring Safety and Environmental Cleanliness:

- Maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff.

- Monitoring for hazards and promptly addressing any safety concerns.

- Performing routine cleaning tasks, such as tidying resident rooms and common areas.

6. Assisting with Dining and Nutrition:

- Setting up dining areas for meals and assisting residents during meal times.

- Following dietary guidelines and restrictions as directed by healthcare professionals.

- Encouraging residents to maintain proper hydration and nutrition.

7. Communication and Collaboration:

- Communicating effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors.

- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, therapists, and physicians, to ensure coordinated care for residents.

- Participating in team meetings, care conferences, and training sessions as required.

8. Personal Care Assistance:

- Providing assistance with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.

- Helping residents with incontinence care and changing linens as needed.

- Assisting residents with the use of mobility aids and adaptive equipment.

9. Emergency Response:

- Responding calmly and efficiently to emergencies, such as falls, medical crises, or fire drills.

- Following established protocols for emergency situations and seeking assistance from appropriate personnel when necessary.

10. Resident Advocacy:

- Advocating for residents' rights, preferences, and dignity.

- Respecting residents' autonomy and promoting their independence to the extent possible.

- Assisting residents in exercising their rights and addressing any concerns or grievances they may have.

These duties may vary depending on the specific policies, procedures, and regulations of the assisted living facility, as well as the individual needs and preferences of the residents.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
