The Engineering Team Manager role requires a dynamic individual who enjoys networking, developing and sustaining client relationships, and serving as a mentor for junior engineering staff. This position requires a technical background for design of streets, sanitary sewer, water, and stormwater, as well as knowledge of current water quality requirements. The Team Manager will coordinate civil design with Westlake’s land use planning and surveying components, and oversee administrative aspects of the department.

We are seeking an individual with experience managing project teams to plan and prepare construction documents for general civil projects in accordance with both local (city and county) standards and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will offer:

• 10 - 15 years civil engineering experience with a background in site civil design, including a combination of roadway, traffic, storm water, irrigation design and utility relocations;
• A solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints;
• A proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets;
• Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of site development civil projects;
• Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling, and MS software applications;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with clients, staff, agencies, and firm management;
• Experience with project estimating, labor allocations, and cost accounting methods for project management;
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university;
• Oregon PE license (required); licensure in other states is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate, plan, and administer small to medium size site civil projects;
• Manage and mentor civil staff, helping them set and meet professional goals;
• Ensure the integrity and completeness of all civil designs with strong QA/QC procedures;
• Establish and maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction;
• Actively engage in professional organizations and at industry events;
• Assist with civil project billing and aged A/R;
• Schedule staff workload to meet deadlines with deliverables;
• Perform administrative duties related to the Civil team staff such as timecard review;
• Perform Senior Project Manager duties;
• Work with Marketing to provide technical information for RFP pursuits.
