Position Overview and Responsibilities:
The Department is seeking a highly motivated professional to serve as an Accountant II in the Bureau of Financial and Fiscal Management.This position is essential to ensuring that state funds are accounted, reported, and monitored in accordance with state and federal laws. The incumbent would be responsible for receiving all revenues and disbursements in the unit, which include maintaining and updating electronic files for tracking receipts, processing, and resolution and managing the in-person exchange of documents with the outsourced benefit manager. Tracking the receipt, review, and submission/receipt to/from the Department of Financial Services (DFS) of premium contributions paid by Journal Transfers. The incumbent would maintain and reconcile vital daily, weekly, and monthly accounting and fiscal records. The responsibilities of this position have been developed to ensure compliance with acceptable accounting practices, controls, and separation of duties.
