Established in 1970, Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo is a non-profit organization and dedicated partner of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo that exists to raise philanthropic support for and public awareness of the zoo. We are resourceful, passionate, and dedicated about what we do. The Friends and the Rosamond Gifford share a joint mission of connecting people with the natural world by providing engaging guest experiences, exceptional animal care and unparalleled conservation education. We strive to provide our guests with experiences that excite, memories that endure, and knowledge that inspires worldwide conservation.
- Demonstrates exceptional guest service skills when selling F&B items to either guests or employees and informs guests of zoo facilities, exhibits and their location.
- Operates cash register or cash bank and accepts payment for F&B product(s) ensuring accuracy when making change.
- Responsive to guest’s questions regarding food items, prices, methods of preparation, items on sale and availability of various F&B products. Continually up-sells F&B products offered.
- Keeps assigned area orderly and clean, sanitizes counter in designated areas, as well as assisting in the dining area as needed.
- Answers the telephone promptly, to ensure customers’ orders are communicated and ready in a timely manner.
- Utilizes proper storage and care when handling guest take-out orders.
- Ensures proper maintenance for the equipment is completed.
- Attempts to control food costs; throw away, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to speak English.
- Previous Fast Casual experience is a plus.
- Previous Food & Beverage or any type of guest service experience a plus.
- Must take PRIDE in the workspace and thrive in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to ring in orders and settle checks on Point of Sale system.
- Must possess the ability to count money and make correct change.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to be safety oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
