Purpose/Introduction

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Sweeny, Clemens & Old Ocean Complex in Sweeny, Texas. This position is in the Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a crew of Chevron Phillips Chemical hourly maintenance craft employees and providing work direction to contract maintenance personnel.

The successful candidate will work closely with operations and maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient execution of daily maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Safety leader and example.
• Advocate for safety by taking a proactive approach in the RAPTOR and Safety Tracker programs.
• Applies Tenets and supports safety-related processes as a core value.
• Conducts daily tailgate safety meetings.
• Attend and participate in safety meetings.
• Monitors plant operations to ensure appropriate maintenance support is provided.
• Assigns and directs work activities to meet schedule requirements and emergency operational issues.
• Manage the PM work execution, and SAP closure by the due date and ensures all change requests are completed.
• Participates in Job Safety Analyses and the development of safety action plans.
• Daily reporting on schedule compliance and execution.
• Addresses and resolves difficult employee issues through resolution.
• Supports and ensures training obligations are met.

• Monitors plant operations to ensure appropriate maintenance support is provided
• Works with planning and scheduling for continual process improvement.
• Performs weekend and after-hours duty as required
• Manages timesheet data for daily work and overtime for the craft.
• Coaches and develops assigned employees to maximize their potential.
• May perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of maintenance experience OR Engineering Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
• Ability to read engineered drawings such as P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, spec sheets, other schematics, and product manuals to assist in repairs and material requisitions.
• Proficiency in using various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interact with other departments to coordinate equipment repairs.
• Ability to complete assigned projects in a safe and timely manner.
• Experienced in SAP notification/work order management and material requisitions.
• Must have excellent leadership, communication, written, and verbal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience (temporary upgrade positions are acceptable alternatives).
• Experience in maintenance and repair of industrial process equipment.
