Our client, a growing Italian import and distribution organization based in picturesque Swedesboro, NJ, is seeking a proactive and progressive Senior Staff Accountant. Privately owned by two leading international manufacturing companies that operate in over 80 countries, our client values a self-starter who is motivated, enthusiastic, and outgoing, with a strong ability to build lasting relationships with customers and staff.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Background in general ledger accounting, financial statements, and general business management.
• Proactive and capable of working independently.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and other financial reports.
• Manage the month-end close process.
• Handle weekly cash disbursements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable collections (soft collections).
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing team on financial planning and budgeting to drive revenue and meet goals.
• Review and reconcile gross payroll and taxes with the general ledger.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger reviews.
• Process weekly payroll.
• Assist in procuring services such as business insurance, health insurance, and 401K plans.
• Oversee inventory management and accuracy, including obsolescence reviews.
• Undertake special research projects as assigned locally or by the parent company.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of hands-on accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus but not required.
