Our Sumner based client is looking for two Senior Accountant’s. Candidates must have a strong understanding of GAAP and how to apply it, financial statements, and audit review experience. The Senior Accountant role consists of performing the month-end closing procedures. Real-estate industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month end closing tasks including recording journal entries, calculating accruals, performing variance analyses, and reconciling GL accounts.
• Responsible for preparation and analysis of financial statements and internal reports in accordance with closing calendar (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Equity Summary and Cash Flow Statement).
• Manage and maintain timely and accurate cash management, including monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting to ensure entities are adequately funded to meet its obligations.
• Responsible for recording Fair Market Value adjustments, tracking partner equity, and reconciling month end financial reporting at this level.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting team members on accounting practices.
• Responsible for fixed asset accounting including capital vs. expense, WIP tracking, recommending useful lives and depreciation schedules for asset additions.
• Reviewing expenses (Accounts Payable) and revenue (Billings) postings for proper coding.
• Prepare annual Federal Tax Return supporting documentation and any additionally required state tax returns including but not limited to Personal Property Affidavits and Excise Taxes.
• Assist with preparation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasting as requested.
• Participate in special projects as needed or directed by Controller which may include identifying and implementing process improvements, participation in software upgrades and supporting business growth.
• Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with team members, coworkers and management.
• Complete responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and within all applicable laws.
