Position Summary
The Nautilus Solar Energy Associate General Counsel, Real Estate will support the legal aspects of real estate and site control matters for NSE’s solar projects throughout all stages of development and financing. This position will be a key member of the legal team.
The position reports to the Deputy General Counsel, Real Estate. It is a full-time remote opportunity.
Responsibilities:
· Prepare and review legal documents such as leases, purchase agreements, easements, and amendments as needed to secure site control for the development, construction and financing of NSE’s solar projects.
· Manage real estate and site control diligence, and coordinate with external legal counsel, third-party partners and other NSE departments for progress projects to closing, development complete and financing milestones.
· Identify real estate and site control risks in NSE’s solar projects, and evaluate magnitude of risk and options for resolution. Convey risks and resolutions in a clear, concise manner for non-attorneys, including third-party partners and the NSE business teams.
· Coordinate deliverables required for project acquisitions and financing closings (debt and tax equity).
Requirements:
· JD from accredited law school.
· Current license to practice law in one or more US jurisdictions.
· 3 years of legal experience in the renewables industry; solar DG or community solar experience preferred.
· Solar project development and finance experience preferred.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· Ability to manage multiple projects.
· Comfortable working in a remote environment.
· Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
