POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Front of House Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Retirement: 401k/Roth
Salary: $50,000.00-$55,000.00
Position Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage
POSITION PURPOSE: The Front of House (FOH) Manager supports the entire Food & Beverage operation by leading and supervising service onsite as well as onboard the train. The Front of House Manager will aid in training and leading Front of House Team Members to ensure proper food handling, cleanliness standards, and exemplary service levels for all Guests. The Front of House Manager will support the overall Food & Beverage operation through a blend and combination of departmental oversight, leadership by example, and providing direct service to Guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manage and oversee FOH operation.
Provide regular observation and feedback regarding food & beverage service and support efforts to maximize quality and ensure Guest satisfaction.
Promptly and effectively address service standards and operational efficiency among Team Members.
Facilitate on-the-job training for Cashiers, Servers, and other FOH Team Members.
Training Servers specifically on wine, alcohol and cheese knowledge so they know what pairs well together and why to give the guests the best experience on our specialty trains.
Develop and create accountability around first class serving standards.
Ensure and uphold best practices with respect to cash handling and payment processing.
Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage on special events.
Encourage and motivate staff toward best-in-class levels of service.
Identify Guest needs and respond proactively to Guest concerns.
Adhere to company policies and strategies.
Ensure Guests drinking alcoholic beverages are of legal age and servers are adhering to applicable laws and House Rules.
Attend to food service railcars and guarantee compliance of food handling and cleanliness standards.
Resolve any issues or Guest concerns.
Receive and stock all drink/food orders.
Other duties as required.

Demonstrates effectiveness in responding to the immediate needs of Guests.

Accurately and effectively communicates information to appropriate staff and third parties.

Shows up to work on time and is punctual for meetings and appointments.
Maintains current certifications (ServSafe Food Handler & RAMP Server/Seller)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience in food & beverage service, especially in fine dining and bartending.
Current ServSafe certification required.
Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board RAMP Server/Seller training.
Enthusiasm for the company, its product offerings and the overall Guest experience.
Self-motivation, self-direction, and a confidence to take initiative.
Excellency in interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.
Organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
Ability to delegate tasks.
Experience leading a diverse team, and a passion for inspiring people.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Positive attitude and personal confidence in management.
Knowledge of and proficiency with computers, technology, and POS.
Unwavering commitment to world-class Guest service and a positive company reputation.
Willingness and desire to learn.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Full-time, salary, minimum forty (40) hours per week. Varied shifts depending on operating, event, and travel schedules.
Evening and weekend hours are expected.
Work during special events is required i.e. Day Out with Thomas, Christmas season, Mother’s Day, Easter, etc, all of which may be outside normal job responsibilities.
Work is primarily indoors, in buildings and train cars, though some time is spent outdoors.
Work requires frequent walking and/or standing, including aboard moving train cars.
Work requires frequent social contact with staff, guests, and third-party vendors.
Occasional exposure to very hot or very cold temperatures.
Use of basic office equipment and business technology includes but is not limited to computers, POS tablets, mobile phone, VOIP telephone system, cloud-based booking platform, copier, and two-way radio.
Occasional need for personal protective equipment.
Occasional exposure to hazardous situations and contaminants.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
