Work as part of a crew installing, maintaining, and repairing the Campus utilities distribution systems for steam, chilled water, potable water, storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, natural gas, and the related utilities metering devices.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance and repair on existing utilities distribution systems and related equipment for domestic water, heating and chilled water, steam and condensate, natural gas, and sanitary and storm sewer lines.
Perform according to industry guidelines and approved OSU standard practices, the installation of various types of pipe, fittings, and related equipment / accessories on existing and new utilities distribution systems throughout the Stillwater campus (domestic water, heating and chilled water, steam and condensate, natural gas, trap lines, and sanitary and storm sewer lines.)
Use Energy Services’ Geographic Information System to identify, notate, and electronically log precise data on utilities distribution assets location, type, operational status, maintenance records, and any findings.
Employee in this position is required to be on rotating standby for emergencies and / or any other event after 4 p.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays.
Employee in this position is required to work overtime when work requires.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use.
Must work safely and promote a safe work environment.
Exposed to high levels of dust and noise, and working around or operating hazardous equipment.
Handles explosive gasses (natural gas) and raw sewage. Works in confined spaces, in and around excavations.
Work is outside in all types of inclement weather with exposure to extreme heat and cold.
This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50
pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.
