The Sterile Processing Technician cleans, decontaminates, and sterilizes all instrumentation and associated equipment for the OR and other hospital departments. Responsible for accurately completing all records pertinent to sterilization process. Purchases instrumentation in collaboration with the OR Manager. Works with repair vendor to maintain integrity of instrumentation. Monitors all autoclaves and arranges for maintenance of same.

Work Schedule: 

Monday through Friday. Days/Evenings.

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must have one of the following:
  • Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtained within one year from hire date
  • Current CRCST from the International Association of Healthcare Service Material Management or obtained within one year from hire date
• Computer skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework in Sterile Processing or equivalent Sterile Processing Technician experience
• Certification in sterilization
• Previous knowledge and experience with sterilization in hospital or ambulatory surgical center
