1st shift Machinist Job Description
- Work under limited supervision and follows written and/or verbal instructions and established procedures to perform standardized or routine tasks.
- Effectively retrieve, understand, and adhere to QAP documentation.
- Responsible and accountable for set-up documentation (programs).
- Perform autonomous maintenance, as needed.
- Independently responsible and accountable for quality work.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two plus years previous machining experience required.
- Ability to use and set up technical tools and instruments required to perform product line duties.
- Possess and demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
- Previous inspection experience required.
- Ability to utilize and provide basic explanation of fixturing and machine offsets. Understanding of how to build complex tools.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities in addition to key performance objectives.
- General understanding and application of basic Lean Methodology.
- Demonstrates proficiency to read, interpret drawings, technical specifications and CMM reports.
- Understanding of and ability to train on 5S principles.
- Advanced understanding of how to read and use measuring instruments.
- Ability to read programs and perform basic editing.
- Proficient in running machines such as a saw, basic mills, and two-axis lathes
- Ability to train entry level machinists Grades 9.2 and 10.1
