Title of Position: Chief of Staff

Reports To: President/CEO

Description of Duties and Responsibilities: The Chief of Staff is a full-time position that supports the President/CEO of the organization. This position will serve as the face and voice of the agency. This position is responsible for managing all organizational communications including with the Board on behalf of the President and with community agencies, volunteers and direct service clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Board and Committee Interactions: The COS manages interactions with the board and committees, representing the president when needed.

· Strategic Execution: Execute organizational development strategies and manage related agendas.

· Business Coordination: Coordinating essential business activities such as talent management budgeting, communications, performance management, and data analysis.

· Meeting Management: Managing board and committee meetings, taking minutes, ensuring effective communication. Manages interactions with staff, representing the president at monthly staff meetings when needed.

· Staff Support: Supporting staff development, morale, and productivity.

· Performance Review Process: Overseeing performance reviews and identifying professional development needs.

· Decision Facilitation: Facilitating executive decision-making and execution.

· Accounting and Financial Management: Working with the agency’s accountant, President/CEO, and board treasure, The COS will facilitate financial management and reporting to board of directors and funding agencies, including, but not limited to, processing of payroll and monthly expenses. The Chief of Staff plays a crucial role in supporting the executive leadership and ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization.

Qualifications:

· Experience: At least two years’ experience in senior leadership, and all aspects of nonprofit management.

· Education: Minimum BA degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or related areas. MBA, or MPH preferred, and/or two years’ experience in non-profit management.

· Adaptability: COS should understand their employee’s strengths and adapt organizational strategies accordingly for optimal success.

· Self-Awareness: COS should be able to cultivate self-awareness by understanding their own strengths and weaknesses.

· Change Management: The COS should be adept at managing and embracing changes in real-time, even with budget constraints.

· Core Values: COS should align with the organization’s core values, vision, and mission.

· Resilience: Modeling resilience is essential for the COS role.

Amount of travel and other special conditions or requirements:

Use of personal automobiles for routine local travel. Out-of-town travel to attend training and/or meetings must be approved and will be reimbursed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $74,600.00 per year
