Project R.E.S.T. is Hiring a Shelter Advocate (3rd Shift, PT) Near Spartanburg, SC

Responsibilities:

1. Familiarize new residents with the facility, etc. (consult procedures manual).

2. Accept emergency intakes (consult procedures manual).

3. Answer 24 hour crisis line between 5pm-8:30am and 24 hours through the weekend, and route crisis calls to volunteers/staff on call.

4. Provide crisis counseling and case management for shelter residents dealing with issues of victimization and violence.

5. Supervise residents in the performance of household chores, meal preparation, and clean up.

6. Ensure residents follow Shelter Guidelines. Provide coaching to residents who deviate from shelter guidelines. Any behavior that presents an immediate safety risk to staff and other residents, must be reported immediately to the staff member who is on-call for guidance and support and documented in the agency's case management system.

7. Assist clinical staff as needed. Perform specific assignments as directed in order to ensure that appropriate services are available for clients (i.e. assistance with children during counseling sessions and clerical assistance, as necessary).

8. Assist in picking-up and storing food, household supplies, and donations.

9. Attend staff meetings as scheduled.

10. Perform other duties as delegated.
